Deremius Y. Williams

Deremius Y. Williams is a member of the senior leadership team of Yale New Haven Health System in CT, serving as Senior Vice President of Payer Strategy and Innovation. In this capacity she is responsible for leading the development, communication and realization of system-wide strategies for contracting strategy, payer relations, account management and product development for both fee-for-service and value-based care models, including opportunity development and market expansion. She works closely with colleagues to develop and implement payer contracting and service strategies to ensure competitiveness and improved access, and enhances collaboration across the system through high value consulting.  Deremius is motivated to develop and execute on strategies that position the health system positively with its constituents through partnerships and mechanisms that enhance value with respect to access, quality and the total cost of care experience for employers and consumers.  Prior to joining Yale New Haven Health, Deremius worked exclusively for payers in the Connecticut market, leading provider contracting strategy, provider relations, payment innovation and total cost of care management, including as Vice President of Provider Solutions at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of CT just before her arrival at Yale New Haven Health. Deremius is regarded as an intelligent, motivated and highly effective contributor and leader, comprehensively and successfully advancing strategic imperatives to provide tangible value to the community. She is a collaborative and inspiring leader who is keen on relationship management and focused on augmenting the capabilities of others to achieve results that are broadly beneficial to multiple constituents. 

Deremius holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in Health Policy and Management from New York University. She is a recognized and well-respected health care leader in Connecticut with a wealth of contracting, reimbursement, payment innovation and cost of care knowledge. Her vast experience, strong relationships, leadership skills and disciplined focus serves our constituents well in an ever-evolving and increasingly complex health care environment. 

Outside of work, Deremius has a passion for community engagement. Among other appointments, she has served on the boards of Leadership Greater Hartford and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Connecticut. She has been recognized by the New Haven Business Times and Connecticut Magazine in Forty Under Forty Editions, and has engaged with other community-focused entities like Junior Achievement and Nutmeg Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is the proud mother of two beautiful children, and when she is not working, volunteering and mothering, she shares her gift of song in various venues whenever she can.
